2010, where it all began
In 2010, Elles van Teylingen founded Women in Sales with a bold mission: to increase the representation of women in top sales positions. Noticing that women were still underrepresented in leadership roles, and that diversity efforts were largely focused on C-level and board positions, she saw an opportunity to advance female sales talent—a vital yet often overlooked area. Today, the importance of balanced teams is more pressing than ever. Research reveals that diverse teams outperform homogeneous ones, achieving 21% higher profitability on average. Specifically in sales, gender-diverse teams are proven to better understand customer needs, broaden market reach, and boost market share.
