Training: The neuroscience of decision-making
The neuroscience of decision-making (with dr. Marcia Goddard)
Diversity is crucial for organizations that aim to drive innovation and achieve better performance. Research shows that diverse teams lead to more innovation (BCG, 2018), better performance (HBR, 2019), stronger financial results (Gartner, 2019), and increased engagement (Gartner, 2020). But how can we minimize the influence of bias in our decision-making process to harness these benefits?
In our training “The Neuroscience of Decision-Making,” you will learn how unconscious biases (bias) affect your decisions and how you can reduce them. The SEEDS model helps you recognize and address biases such as similarity and expedience. You will learn strategies like systematizing processes, gathering objective data, and appointing a ‘devil’s advocate’ to improve decision-making.
Additionally, the training offers practical tools to activate empathy by exposing you to different life stories and encouraging the use of Socratic questioning, such as: “What makes you say that?” and “What is the counterargument?” All of this contributes to better, more inclusive, and well-considered decisions.
Our training also helps you make consistent decisions in hybrid work structures and teaches you how to create a safe environment where mistakes are addressed without attacking individuals. By taking more time for important decisions and actively involving remote participants in meetings, you foster an inclusive decision-making culture.
Do you want to learn how to apply neuroscientific insights to improve your decision-making processes and innovate through diversity? This training provides you with the practical tools and knowledge to achieve that.
